This is a rare one.
A General Manager position that gives you the opportunity to transition a hotel from one brand to another whilst overseeing a full lock stock refurbishment along the way.
This vacancy gives you the opportunity to lead a team through all of that, and to be the person who shapes what it becomes.
The refurbishment scope covers arrival/external area, bedrooms, bathrooms, public areas, gym and meeting rooms, plus a new restaurant and bar on the ground floor.
You will be trading throughout, and we will not pretend that is easy. Holding occupancy, rate and guest scores steady while contractors are on site is the hardest part of this job. You will not be doing it on your own though: the ownership group comprises experienced investors who have engaged a talented Design Team for the project, and together with Valor's strong operations and development teams, we will be alongside you at every step.
The restaurant and bar is the part we are most excited about. It will be a complete reimaging of the way the ground floor is currently used. Attracting residents and local guests to use our spaces at all times of the day.
What you'll own
• Full P&L accountability: revenue, cost control and delivery against agreed targets
• All operations across rooms, food and beverage, maintenance and support services
• Delivery of the rebrand programme with Valor's operations and development teams
• Recruitment, development and retention across a team of c. 100 colleagues
• The launch and commercial performance of the new restaurant and bar, including building an external customer base
• Compliance across health and safety, licensing, employment law and brand standards
• Relationships with ownership, airport partners and the local business community
• KPI reporting to the regional team
About you
You are an established hotelier, already a General Manager in a branded full-service hotel. If you have been through a rebrand, a refurbishment or a repositioning, you will know what it takes to get the most out of a team and how to keep standards steady and team engaged while it is happening.
We would love it if you can point to food and beverage revenue you grew yourself, and if you are the sort of person who is comfortable making a call before every detail is settled.
This is an on-site role. You will need the right to work in Ireland and to live within an hour's commute of the hotel.
The hotel
179 bedrooms (188 post refurb), restaurant and bar, meeting rooms and a fitness centre, eight kilometres from Dublin Airport with a complimentary shuttle to Terminals 1 and 2. Dublin city centre and the fishing village of Howth are both within ten kilometres.
The hotel is owned by Travail Hospitality, a hotel investment and asset management platform founded by Damien Gaffney and Leon Kenny in 2025. Between 2011 and 2025, they built and led Tetrarch Capital’s hotel platform, acquiring, repositioning and ultimately exiting 10 hotels comprising c. 2,000 bedrooms for a combined value of more than €500m. Following the acquisition of Hilton Dublin Airport in February 2026, Travail is building a portfolio of hotels, focused primarily on Dublin.
Package
Bonus, pension, healthcare, holiday allowance, relocation support, hotel discounts across the Valor and IHG estates.
